General information

The tournament is open for 5 categories:
- The Belgacom U18 Invitational: a competition for national teams and some of the stronger European club teams. This competition is only open on individual invitation. In this category, 8 teams will compete. They will play four games over full game length. One game will be played on December 26th, 2 games on December 27th and a final game on December 28th. All games of this category will take place in KORTRIJK (Lange Munte).
 
- The Woman Under 18 Cup: a competition for 8 or 12 woman’s teams. This competition is open for both national teams and club teams. All teams will play five games over 4 x 8 minutes, stopped clock. This competition takes place in YPRES.
 
- The Floralux Men Under 18 Cup:  a competition for 16 or 20 men’s teams. This competition is open for both national teams and club teams. All teams will play five games over 4 x 8 minutes, stopped clock. This competition takes place in YPRES and KORTRIJK.
 
- The Betafence Men Under 16 Cup: a competition  for 16 to 20 men’s teams. This competition is open for both national teams and club teams. All teams will play five games over 4 x 8 minutes, stopped clock. This competition takes place in WEVELGEM, KORTRIJK and ZWEVEGEM.
 
- The Engels Men Under 14 Cup: a competition for 12 to 16 men’s teams. This competition is open for both national teams and club teams. All teams will play five games over 4 x 8 minutes, stopped clock. This competition takes place in KORTRIJK and ZWEVEGEM.

 

- For granting a high competition level, invitations were only sent to a limited number of clubs, playing on the highest competition level in their respective countries. The number of Belgian teams will be limited, for offering additional spots to foreign teams.

Location: Kortrijk, Wevelgem, Zwevegem and Ypres (BELGIUM). Teams will not having to switch between courts during the day.

- Start of the tournament: Monday December 26th at 13 Hr (for the teams able to arrive on December 26th), or  Tuesday December 27th at 9 Hr.

- End of tournament and medal ceremony: Wednesday December 28th at 18.30 Hr. All teams will however receive their rewards immediately after their last game. This for allowing those teams who have to travel a lot to leave earlier.

- Coach Van Kers, a living legend of coaching in Belgium accepted to lend his name to the MVP awards for the men’s competitions. He will offer the “Van Kers MVP awards “ at the end of the tournament.

- An Wauters, former European player of the year accepted to lend her name to the MVP awards for the girls U18 tournament. She will offer the “An Wauters MVP Award at the end of the tournament.

- The Altia X-Mas tournament will be part of the Belgian national referees program. All officials during the tournament will be part of this program and will be evaluated by the basketball league during the tournament.
